In light of all that’s going on in the world, we could all use some honesty, encouragement, and above all, reminders of our victory and authority in this Earth trhough Jesus! Chack out our breif reviews of this week’s new releases, and see for yourself how they might spark conversation and help to build you up in the Lord:
DayBreak EP x Flame

Genre: Rap/Hip-Hop
Project Type: EP
Review: In the words of the artist, “Daybreak is a short project that unpacks the state of Christianity in context of social justice.” See the tweet and thread below for more:
While you may agree or disagree with the messages Flame shares in this latest project, it’s important for the body of Christ to have discussions amongst itself, and to make sure that all members are cared for as Christ would desire. Daybreak is certainly a conversation piece relevant to our current social climate.
Sin Verguenza x 116

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
Project Type: Album
Review: This album is jam packed with Latino artists as well as many of Reach Records’ current roster including Wande, Tedashii, 1K Phew, WHATUPRG, and Lecrae. The title, which in English translates to “without shame,” is (in addition to relating to Reach Records’ “Unashamed” calling card) a reflection of the album’s theme – celebration of cultural (and other God-given) identities. For those who speak Spanish and/or are willing to learn, this project is another that explores themes of social justice and societal roles.
You can view the music video premiere of the song “La Fiesta” below.
